The first week of May 2019 had been very different than normal for the people of Odisha specially Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri. A super-cyclone changed the way we live our lives within a few hours. The effects of the devastation will take a long time to repair for many people in the state. While infrastructure is limped back to normal slowly and operational matters made “normal”, we at Braahmam saw the need to spare a thought for the less fortunate people who were severely affected and may need much more help than us in these few weeks. Some of us know families personally who are adversely affected in the disaster.
At Braahmam, when we decided to open office in Bhubaneswar some 7 years back we had a thought to give back a small bit to our motherland by creating jobs and bringing international exposure to the aspiring young workforce and also contribute to foreign exchange by way of exports. Little had we foreseen back then that such a major calamity would occur. This situation also called for us at Braahmam to do a small bit that we could to give back to our motherland. Therefore, it was decided that the company would contribute Rs. One Lac towards cyclone relief measures to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Also, in light of this situation, employees at Braahmam came together to contribute voluntarily a donation to help others in the state.
With this, we also pray for quick return to normalcy in the state.
