We explain how we tackled a project involving text-to-speech translation, synthetic voice generation and embedding in PowerPoint, providing our client revolutionary multimedia presentations in five languages.

The client for this project operates a division specializing in logistics and postal optimization services. The target audience for the training slides we were working on consists of employees in the US who are not native English speakers, necessitating translations into languages relevant to their linguistic backgrounds.

The project involves translating a 70+slide onboarding training PowerPoint presentation into five different languages—Gujarati, Hindi, Malayalam, Nepali and Urdu—and integrating synthetic voiceovers into each slide.

The project included a wealth of cutting-edge tech, like text-to-speech translation, synthetic voice generation and embedding techniques, to create multilingual and accessible multimedia presentations.

Key Project Requirements:

  1. Text-to-Speech Translation: Translate 70+ slides of onboarding training content into five languages, Gujarati, Hindi, Malayalam, Nepali (India), and Urdu (Pakistan), and prep the translations as spoken scripts.
  2. Synthetic Voice Generation: Generate synthetic voiceovers for each translated slide in the specified languages.

  2. Limited Budget: Working within the client's budget constraints while delivering high-quality services was also a challenge. Balancing cost-effectiveness with the client's expectations for quality and accuracy necessitated careful resource allocation and optimization of processes.
  3. Quality Expectations: Maintaining the highest standards of quality in translations, synthetic voice generation and presentation integration was paramount. Ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural sensitivity and natural fluency in voiceovers required thorough proofreading, editing and quality assurance processes, adding complexity to the project execution.

To make this a success, we collaborated with language experts proficient in the five target languages to ensure accurate translations and culturally appropriate content. These linguists were involved in the selection of appropriate synthetic voice models for each language to ensure natural and engaging narration.
